Ok, my turn. Graphically, it's brilliant. Really quite stunning. Getting to the stage where you don't know how much more realistic it can get. The presentation and structure of the game is great, the direction that ML is going is really exciting, and not far off being playable as a manager game on it's own. The fact that you can edit and customise almost everything has been a staple of OCD ridden PES lovers for years, and this continues nicely.

Anyway, enough praise. You'll notice I haven't actually mentioned anything to do with the gameplay yet, and with good reason I think. Although it's nice that they are trying to take steps forward from the slightly arcadey PES of recent years, the changes this year are abit too radical and nowhere near refined enough. In the past, I could play for hours, take big bites out of seasons in one sitting, but now that is not so. I've found myself just having to switch off after a couple of games in annoyance.

Responsiveness is an issue, particularly in terms of shooting. Lots of people have said this and I agree, it seems to be VERY hard to hit it first time and get a decent header on it. This is particularly annoying for someone who likes to get it out wide.

I could go on, but I can't be arsed. To sum up, most reviews from mags and websites have been very good, undeservedly so. For me it's definitely in the sort of 6 out of 10 category, i.e. good but with reasonably big flaws. Mainstream reviewers just don't have the bollocks to give it a bad (or even mediocre) review because they don't want to appear to be biased in a two horse race. Plus, think about it, these guys review all the games that come out, so how much time can they really devote to each one..?

i totally agree , the game play is nothing like it used to be on ps2 , or even on 2008 ps3 ....we dont have control over players or the ball or the passing anymore

What made pes great "the gameplay" is terrible this year. So unresponsive, 2 much computer assistance, 2 much random out of your control passes and movements and by the time it takes you to shoot the ball has already reached the other half of the pitch. Not to mention terrible player selection options and no 2v2 custom cup.

Could be the worst pes ever.

On the plus side graphics are not bad.

Someone really needs to have a word with konami. They seemed to have lost the plot.

PES 10 imho is still a better game than FIFA 10. FIFA 10 is really nice and all but it doesn't excite me nor does it give me chills and goosebumps like PES 10 does esp. multiplayer or online mode.

bad fida

Fifa 10 is going to be the first Fifa game I've bought since I was a kid with a Megadrive.

That's some pretty bad form from Konami.[/QUOTE]

To be perfectly honest I don't care crap about the reviews, O mean I've always stuck by PES, Simply because I enjoy it. Let the reviews pile in, but who are they to say which games better, or how good a game is? that's their oppinion.

just a question

strated playing PES 2010 just recently, and i just wanted to know the name of the genius programmer who was working on PES 2010 and decided that teams playing away from their grounds should not have supporters with them to cheer when they score, this option totally ruined our game. Imagine am playing as Liverpool in UEFA semifinal against inter-Milan, and after struggling all game i score a great goal and there is no one to cheer from the crowds!!!!! who told you guys that all these clubs dont have tens of thousands of supporters following them every where. i am so so so angry and disappointed from this mistake that killed my game and i demand an explanation.

yes i have WE10 demo with keepers who 'cant catch a headed ball to save their lives' problem

players who run with the ball, make a pass and stop dead on the spot.. as though their part in the game is now over. they carried the ball, made the pass, took out the picnic basket and camped out for the evening.

nobody else notice how the ai is reluctant to continue running AFTER you make a pass? (you shouldnt have to make a 1-2 play to keep them running to support an attack)...or how players never run on and into the ball if it breaks free right in front of them?

apart from the keepers, and passing, it is this lack of momentum and fluidity that make me feel like the series has not progressed since PS2... its like unless i control every aspect of my team they are inept. and given that you can only directly control 1 player at a time, this is a little suspect, and massively detracts from the notion of 'real football' to me.

Its hard to say what its like until we play ourselfs. One thing i noticed from a review video was that through balls are improved from the WE demo which did my head in! Yea i noticed they stopped after a pass, you gota wait about 2 seconds for them to move...
